If you would’ve asked me five years ago where I would be today, I would’ve never said being a massage therapist. I was struggling then with depression and self-confidence. I was dealing with situations that were out of my control, and as hard as I tried, I couldn’t do anything to help. I felt overwhelmed.

As I watched my husband, Adam, deal with Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Dissociative Identity Disorder (formerly known as multiple personality disorder) from a riot he was involved in at his work at the super-max prison, I didn’t know what to do. I saw how massage therapy helped him with his pain and anxiety, and decided that that was what I needed to do.

I applied to be in the massage therapy program at Allegany College of Maryland in January of 2014, and was accepted that summer. I completed the two-year Associate’s Degree with honors in 2016. After passing the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEX), I applied for my massage license in the State of Maryland.

Since the fall of 2016, I have had several opportunities present themselves to me. I worked for two different chiropractor’s, performed chair massage at Western Maryland Health System for their employees, and was the leading massage therapist at a pain management doctor’s office for almost two years. I felt like I had more to offer as a private practice.

Since February 2017, I’ve worked at Savage River Lodge as an Independent Contractor to do massages in the guest’s cabin or yurt. Of course, I am only there on an as-needed basis and only if it works with my current schedule. It is such a beautiful setting there!

In June of 2018, my friend, Tom, shared a product with me that changed my life! At the time, I was struggling with digestive issues (both lactose and gluten intolerance), anxiety, and poor sleep. I couldn’t believe how much it helped me and wanted to share this with others.
